Australia has two climatic zones: the tropical zone (in the north above the Tropic of Capricorn) and the temperate zone. The tropical zone has two seasons, summer (wet) and winter (dry), while the temperate zone has all four seasons. Between December and February is summer for most of the country, and the wet season in the tropical north. The Australian winter from June to August is usually mild, with snow in the southern mountain regions and dry sunny days in the northern states.

The most important airports in Australia are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Cairns. All of them have regular public transport such as bus, train and taxi connections and private transfers to the city centres. Shuttle buses are also available, providing transfers to accommodation.
