Lakes, rivers, waterfalls and glaciers are in perfect harmony in the park.
National Park Tierra del Fuego, an archipelago in the southern tip of South America, consisting of a main island (the Big Island of Tierra del Fuego, often also called Tierra del Fuego) and a group of smaller islands. This National Park is the most southern Patagonian Andean forest.
WHAT TO DO
Skiing, Trekking in Torres del Paine, visit Porvenir (Ferry) and Puerto Natales (bus or ferry).
From Punta Arenas there are tours through the Strait of Magellan and the islands of Tierra del Fuego, where you can see near the colonies of seals and sea lions.
ORIENTATION Punta Arenas, the southernmost city in Chile, is located in Tierra del Fuego, at approximately 2:30 a.m. drive to Puerto Natales and 1418 km off the coast of Antarctica.
HOW TO GET THERE By Plane There is an international airport on the outskirts of town, with many connections to Puerto Montt and Santiago. Upon leaving the airport there are taxis and buses to facilitate the transfer to the city center.
Bus Buses leave daily to Puerto Natales and Rio Gallegos, Argentina. There are frequent departures to Ushuaia, Argentina and take about 11 hours. It is an interesting and beautiful trip. From Punta Arenas to Ushuaia is a short flight, but ridiculously expensive because it is international.
