Located at the south-western part of the coastal province of British Columbia, Vancouver is the major metropolitan area in Western Canada. ORIENTATION

Vancouver is geographically divided into three: the Westside (west of Ontario Street), the Eastside (east of Ontario Street) and downtown (north of False Creek, all of them with their own attractions and neighbourhoods.

The downtown peninsula has most of the city's attractions, superb restaurants, fine hotels and trendy fashion shopping.

On the Westside you can not miss the markets of Granville Island, the gardens, and some great museums and a flourishing arts scene. 

The Eastside is mostly a residential area, but has also many ethnic restaurants and unique shops.  

 

BEST TIME TO VISIT

The best time to visit the city is probably between July and October.

If you are coming to the city for a ski holiday, you should then choose February.

 

HOW TO GET THERE

Vancouver International Airport is located about 25 minutes from the city centre.

There are numerous options to travel between the airport and downtown Vancouver, including coach transfers, limousine, taxi, car rentals and public transportation.

 

TRAVELLING AROUND

Vancouver's public transportation - TransLink as an integrated system of buses, rapid transit (SkyTrain) and passenger ferry (SeaBus).
