ORIENTATION

This gorgeous Alpine resort is made of two villages - St. Moritz Dorf and St. Moritz Bad.
St. Moritz Dorf is located on hills that ascend from the Northern side of Lej San Murezzan. It has luxurious hotels, glamorous shops and urban services. The railroad station is at the foot of the hill.
St. Moritz Bad is situated at the lake's south west area, in the valley base. It is quite modern and has some beautiful 19th century buildings. In Bad, you will find cross-country skiing trails, swimming pools, an ice stadium and spas with mineral and mud baths.
The nightlife in St. Moritz is very energetic and has extremely fine and trendy places to go to.
BEST TIME TO GO
As the city is on the southern side of the Swiss Alps, it has influences from the Mediterranean climate. The Engadine valley, St. Moritz and the nearby area have constant and moderate levels of snow. The city is known for its "Champagne Climate" and the sun shines almost everyday of the year.
Winter has clear bright and cold days, with fine powder snow, perfect for the practice of skiing, skating and other winter sports.
Summer is time for sports like hiking, biking, mountain climbing, sailing and also time to attend to the many culture events.
HOW TO GET THERE
By rail
Through loop tunnels and high bridges, the travel by Rhaetian Railway (RhB) Chur - Tiefencastel – Engadin, is something you will never forget. It’s also possible to travel to the Engadin from Landquart via Klosters – Vereina Tunnel.
The journey from Zurich main station to St. Moritz takes around three hours.
Car transport by rail
It is possible to transport your car by rail:
Thusis - Samedan (your car is loaded – passengers travel by passenger train)
Klosters/Selfranga - Sagliains in the Lower Engadin (you can remain seated in your car)
Arrival by air
Engadin Airport has flight connections to the international airports of Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Milan and Munich.
TRAVELLING AROUND
The scenery surrounding St. Moritz is amazing and good for walking around.
