Jerusalem is the capital city of Israel, located in the Judean Mountains between the Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea. This modern city is also a holy city to the three religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
The walled area of Jerusalem - the Old City, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is formed by four ethnic and religious sections — the Armenian, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim Quarters. The Old City is home the Western Wall and Temple Mount for Jews, the Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslims, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for Christians.
Jerusalem, also known as “The City of Gold”, is a distinctive place where the ancient history lives along with the present days.
